(a transcription emphasizing the semantic content is also available)

8:50:11 Lonnie has been making some comments about ???? that she constructs as something that, in other occasions, she might have to apologize for as, as she has done before she specifically states "no apology." This is received with general laughter, expanded by Cotter as she specifically talk about it.

While the participants are holding Lonnie's hands as they do in Contraction times, their hands are relaxed, confirming that the whole event fits within the interstitial times when talk can range on any topic. It is a time for what we call "chitchat."

8:50:31 Lonnie clear her mouth. The nurse focuses her gaze on her and all are silent for 8 seconds, suspending the chitchat. This may be an instance of the interrupt quality of labor related (Contraction and Medical Visits) moments.
8:50:41 A brief return to chitchat as the husband expands on what Cotter as called earlier a "tease" and wonders whether "some professor is going to have to sit through this?"
8:50:51 Lonnie's hands have tensed again; the nurse is checking the monitor: Contraction time
