NY Times 1997: "I. Ronnie Holly, an entrepreneur, has put years of effort into building up his neighborhood Democratic club" (from a New York Times non-endorsement for the City Council seat for the 9th district) NY Times 2005: "The other Democratic candidates (for city council representative from District 9) listed with the Board of Elections are William A. Allen, a Democratic district leader; I. Ronnie Holly, a former Democratic district leader; and Geoffrey Johnson, who served on the local community precinct council." (from a New York Times story about the possibility that D9 might elect a white woman, Cinthia Doty. The Times describe the district as being "20% white". |
