MEETING WITH CAROL HUTCHINSON
At the end of an advising session, I re-opened the question of her introducing us to her work and institution (the Harlem Health Promotion Center). She said she had been expecting the call from Linda. I said that we had been involved with another institution. She said that she had talked to Sara Wessler (at but not of HCZ). I said something about having to understand the authority structures. She laughed and said that there are distinct institutions but also a lot of cooperation. She also confirmed the extent of the research work being conducted by her institution, including ethnographic research (past?) and future: her own dissertation research. |

{there are many interesting possibilities here, particularly establishing some kind of formal relationship with the people in charge at HHPC. This is probably something I will have to get involved in September. In the mean time we can learn about their work and organization, and particularly their relationship to HCZ.
At this point, subject to change, I think that we need to have done observations at the educational programs of several of these major institutions in order to write about any in enough of an anonymized fashion that no one would get specifically annoyed at us.}
