I entered our "field site" at 125th and Lenox around 2:30 and started working north

[after the bustle of 125th, Lenox appears quite empty. It is actually a particularly wide avenue with huge sidewalks which could be made into something spectacularly distinguished with rows of trees or such]

I turn East on 132nd given "Lenox Terrace," a large housing project that appears to cover at least two or three blocks on the north side of 132nd.

[It looks like a "middle income" project (on the basis of landscaping and signs)]

On the South Side of 132nd, from Lenox towards Fifth Avenue, there are

- some renovated brownstones

- Bethel Church

-tenements, some boarded up

- Greater Central Baptist (at the SW corner with Fifth)

There is a large low income housing on the north side of 132nd east of Fifth.

There are several groups of young men at various points, including two parked in a red SUV and I feel uncomfortable. So I decide to walk South on Fifth.
