While the institutions, settings, and the people we met there, hail from a larger area, the geographical core from which we started, and kept returning can be bounded, in terms of the census tracts as 206, 208, 210, 212, 214, 224, 226, 228, and 230. This includes most of what is considered the northern half of central Harlem and includes a range of urban settlement patterns, from large low and middle income housing developments to expensive brownstones.
